How to get to Anastasia State Park?
Anastasia State Park is situated immediately off A1A only 3 miles from downtown Saint Augustine at 300 Anastasia Park Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32080.
From I95, take Exit #22 (St. Johns Ave) toward St. Augustine Beach/St. Augustine. Continue straight onto US 1-A North until you reach the intersection of US 1-A and A1A. Turn left onto A1A South and follow it to the end. At the traffic light, turn right onto Anastasia Park Road. Follow this road to the entrance.
The closest major airport is Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) which is about an hour drive from Anastasia State Park.
What are the best months for Anastasia State Park camping?
The best camping months in Florida are between October and March. Lows range in the 50s and highs range in the 70s. There are always hot days in between, but usually evenings are mild and comfortable. The summer months are significantly hotter. Anastasia State Park weather in May, June and September reach highs in the 80s, and highs are in the 90s in July and August. To get the best Anastasia State Park weather, travel in the fall and winter months.

How much does it cost to camp at Anastasia State Park?
Camp sites cost $28 per night with a $6.70 nonrefundable reservation fee, and a $7 nightly utility fee for RVs. Sites 1-33 are tent camping only and are a moderate walk to the beach.
What is it like camping at Anastasia State Park?
Anastasia State Park has basic camping amenities with clean restrooms with potable water, and hot showers. There are also washers and dryers available. Outdoor showers are available at the beach.
We stayed in one of the further loops. The Maritime Hammock is quite pretty, and campsites are pretty private. We did find ourselves having to drive to get to the beach. If you reserve in advance, you can get a campsite that would be short walk to the beach area.
There is plenty to do within the park itself. There is 4 miles of beach to explore, and the Ancient Dunes Nature Trail is available for those looking to do some hiking. Many visitors use Anastasia State Park as a resting point to visit Castillo de San Marcos and the other sites of Saint Augustine.
The Island Beach Shop and Grill is located at the beach entrance. They serve a basic menu 7 days a week, and rent bikes, beach chairs and surfboards. Wifi is available at the grill. They also sell firewood and ice, although some times they sell out. If they do, there is a Publix close by.
Campsites are small. Each has a fire ring, and are an easy walk to the bathroom. Lower numbered campsites will be closer to the beach.
There are three playgrounds total in the park. One is near the tent campsites which is a welcome distraction for those with families. There is also a playground and picnic table at the entrance to the beach. Bathrooms are clean. Campsites often must be reserved months ahead of time, as this park is quite popular.
What are the best things to do in Anastasia State Park?
When Anastasia State Park camping, there are enough activities to easily fill 2 full days. The beach is expansive and beautiful, and whether your family lounges, swims, or enjoys beach walks, you will want to spend time on the beautiful white sands.


The Ancient Sand Dunes Trail is a 0.7 mile nature walk that gives an up close look at the natural habitats of the area.
Anastasia also offers kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding on the Salt Run River. It is also a great place to bike.
If you want to adventure into Saint Augustine, you are only 3 miles from downtown Saint Augustine with its many historic sites.

Is there Kayaking in Anastasia State Park?
Yes! Anastasia Paddling offers kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals on the Salt Run river. Rentals range from $25-50 depending on the length of time, and they do have some guided tours available. Along with Anastasia State Park paddle boards and kayaks, the company also offers bike rentals, sailboat rentals, and beach chair and supply rentals. No, there are no cabins in the Anastasia State Park Campground.
Can you drive on the beach at Anastasia State Park?
No, the beach at Anastasia State Park is not a driving beach. This makes it perfect for campers to find some serenity and privacy as they explore the beautiful area.
What is the Best Loop at Anastasia State Park?
We recommend trying to get into the Sea Bean or Queen Conch loops if you want to be close to the beach access. These are sites 1-33. The Coquina loop is also close, but less private. This is a link to the campsite map at Anastasia State Park.
Are Dogs Allowed in Anastasia State Park?
Yes, dogs are allowed in Anastasia State park. However, they must be on a leash, and they are not allowed on the beach.
