The Pirates’ House

Dating back to 1753, The Pirates’ House is an inn and tavern that provides a special experience unlike any other in Savannah.

An old pirate hangout, The Pirates’ House is home to secret underground tunnels that are rumored to have been used for smuggling and kidnapping. It is even thought to have inspired scenes in the classic book “Treasure Island”.

It is one of the most kid friendly restaurants in Savannah, with kids menus that convert into pirate hats, eye patches, and doubloons. Several adult drinks are served in ceramic pirate themed souvenir mugs.

While the whole thing is a bit touristy, the history is real, and it’s a great place for families to spend an afternoon together with kids in Savannah.

We recommend visiting for brunch, which is served every day until 3 PM.  Parents can enjoy hand crafted coffee drinks like the Spiced Lavender Mocha, and delicious meals like Bananas Foster French Toast or the Smash Peas (my personal favorite).

The kids menu includes favorites like macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chicken tenders.

The restaurant also has a great outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying Savannah’s mild climate. It’s a great place to take the family for a meal in the city.

The Wyld Dock Bar

A short drive from downtown Savannah, the Wild Dock Bar is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in Savannah with kids. With beautiful marsh views, and laid back vibes, its a beautiful place with all outdoor seating to escape the city and visit the real Georgia.

Located right on the water, this restaurant has casual vibes where families can kick back and enjoy time together on a nice day.

Kids are welcome here.  There is lawn space for the kids to run around while parents enjoy a drink.  The menu is simple and changes periodically.  Kids can usually find something from tacos to a burger and fries, and if nothing else a slice of key lime pie.

While a bit out of the downtown, we love this place so much that we thought it deserved a spot on the list.
