O’ahu Resorts with Waterparks

Aulani: A Disney Resort and Spa

Located on O’ahu, Aulani is one of the best Hawaii resorts for families.  With all of the hype, Aulani still exceeds expectations.  The Aulani water park is out of this world, with multiple splash pad areas, two thrilling water slides, a lazy river, a snorkeling salt water lagoon, AND a gorgeous infinity pool.

Aulani’s lazy river travels through rock formations and a lush tropical landscape.  The Pu’u Kilo, shaped like a volcanic remnant, has two exciting water slides – the Volcanic Vertical and the Tubestone Curl.

The Menehune Bridge is an epic splash pad for kids 48 inches and under.  It features two water slides, and a large climbing structure.  Near the infinity pool, a second splash pad Keiki Cove is a water playground for 5 and under that has very shallow water for the very little ones to have a good time.

The star of Aulani is the Ka Maka Grotto – an incredible family friendly infinity pool that overlooks the ocean.  After dark, the pool lights up with thousands of glittering lights making it truly magical.

If the pool area isn’t enough, Aulani is unique with its Rainbow Reef, a 3,800 foot man made salt water snorkeling lagoon! It requires an extra fee, but its totally worth it.  The reef provides a beautiful habitat for marine life from butterfly fish to angelfish, and it’s a great place for families to snorkel together for the first time.  Your kids can also choose to feed the fish if you aren’t up to snorkeling.

If you want to stay at Aulani, make sure to book your room early because rooms fill quickly during peak season. While the rates are pricey, if you are looking for a top notch resort on O’ahu with a water park, Aulani is number one on the list.

Hilton Hawaiian Village, O’ahu

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a great choice for families looking for a hotel with a water park in Waikiki.  At a more reasonable price point than Aulani, the Hilton Hawaiian Village still has a fun waterpark area with five spectacular pools.  Hawaii Magazine ranked this pool the second best in O’ahu, right behind Aulani.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Super Pool is 10,000 square feet.  The Keiki Pool for little ones is a tiered pool off of the Super Pool that is shallower for kids to splash safely.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Paradise Pool is multi-layered, and has beautiful waterfalls and one of the best water slides in Waikiki. This property has a lot to offer. The only downside is the pools here get very crowded.  It might be best to stay here in the Fall or the Spring which are Hawaii’s off seasons to be able to enjoy this property to its fullest.
